Shockwave Therapy
Effective treatment and rehabilitation for the full range of injuries and impairments.
Shockwave therapy is a non-invasive treatment that stimulates the body’s natural healing process.
It can relieve pain and promote healing of injured tendons, ligaments, and other soft tissues. It accomplishes this by releasing growth factors in the injured tissue.
Shockwave therapy is sometimes referred to as extracorporeal pulse activation technology or ESWT. It can be used to treat the following:
- Foot pain: plantar fasciitis and Achilles’ tendinopathy
- Knee pain: patella tendinopathy (jumper’s knee)
- Leg pain: hamstring and quadricep injuries
- Hip pain: Hip flexor strains, lateral hip pain with gluteal tendinopathies
- Elbow pain: Tennis and golfers elbow
- Shoulder pain: rotator cuff related injuries
Your Physio will assist in deciding if Shockwave Therapy is appropriate for you.
